2013 Eric McAnallen Reflections on the Creation of Black Patch Cigar Co

Passion Into An Industry

I sit and still reflect on the evolution of my cigar-making experience and realize that this quest began with an idea, or call it a dream, to make a product that would satisfy my energy I spent as a realized accomplishment. Patience, passion, and persistence. Just think of how many industries have been created from passion alone. The drive to create a legacy. Not knowing that was an intent. Born ingenuity. A man wanting to create a Stimulus that satisfied his senses, not being concerned with the reception of another. But yet, discovering later that his enjoyment was shared by others’ acceptance and approval. Not marketing, or a conditioning process of conviction that steers the demand, but an overwhelming genuine seeking out a unique experience that has no duplication or worthy peer of comparison. It was my taste and senses that had to judge the final blend. The final verdict of absolutes and declaring a finished product never achieves 100% concurrence, but a majority consensus of approval is a success. This is how I make Black Patch Cigars. They are created for my approval first and a shared acceptance of an enticing experience for others second.
